Hey guys, my name is Rohan Garg, and I am your extemporaneous captain speaking.   Extemporaneous speaking really opens your eyes to the rest of the world, and really helps you understand various topics. This can range from politics in Europe to the economies of Asia. There are two types of extemporaneous events. IX (or FX) is International (Foreign) Extemporaneous Speaking. NX is National Extemporaneous Speaking. This is a limited prep event that give the speaker 20 minutes to prepare a topic.  This is usually given in the form of a question and you have a choice from three questions. This preparation is done within a 20-25 minute time frame without internet. Competitors are allowed to bring their own materials and have a computer with drop box. I will help to create to this drop box, and throughout the year we will deposit articles in this storage, and will be able to use this in competitions. Competitors will then give a 7 minute speech on the topic they have chosen to a single judge.  This is an event that makes you think fast, creative, and very knowledgeable. Competitors in this event also usually compete in some type of debate as this corresponds well with it.  This challenging event will help you make a better speaker with a better sense of what is going on in the world.
