Hi guys, my name is Michael Chen, and I will be your captain for Congressional Extemp this year (2014-2015). I am a Junior going into my second year as a member of the team, and I am very excited to work with you. As I was a new member just a year ago like you guys, I feel that I can make a real connection to you guys in both teaching and learning Congressional Extemp, so always feel free to come and talk to me about anything.
Reasons to do Congressional Extemp:
1: It's noob friendly (ANYONE can do it)
2: It's good for anyone (even if you are an experienced debater)
3: You can do this in addition to any other debate event (since this is technically a speech event and is labeled as pattern B)
4: You will be very good at BSing
5: Provides confidence to speak in front of audience
6: You can learn about many things you didn't think you'd learn before
7: Helps with classes in school, presentations in particular.
8: You get to practice your argumentation skills.
